The school was founded in 1997 by the local Baptist Church of Sinai, when Profe Gilberto Aguirre Escobar was their pastor. This project started as a pre-school at the Church building. 
Through CEPAD (The Council of Protestant Churches in Nicaragua), a Norwegian youth group that was financing and building Schools in Nicaragua, supported this project and built the School.
 
In 2021 the school operates in its three academic forms: pre-school, elementary and high school assisting the needs of the local community. This school has a capacity of 254 students. Due to the pandemic some students were dropping off school as families were unable to pay school fees with their parents losing their jobs. However as of February 2021 into the new year, the school was able to meet its 254 students capacity divided in the following: 22 students in pre-school, 122 students for elementary and 110 students in high school.

Encouraging young leaders

Profe Gilberto Aguirre Escobar education was a foundational piece in his work and ministry. Graduating from UNAN in Nicaragua to becoming a professor, to successfully earning a master’s degree from Western Michigan University in Educational Leadership. Profe Aguirre took education as fundamental. Our Fundraising campaign for this School is not only by legacy but also a ministry to keep supporting and a commitment with the children of this community to increase education.

Graduations impact at Baptist High School

The Baptist High School has had a very significant impact in the lives of the people of La Concepción. This has been the first private school that is serving this community. The school has produced 18 successful graduations and several professionals that today are serving their communities and are contributing to the Nicaraguan economy. We are sure that with our Lord’s guidance, the students families that support this school and the many loving donors, the Baptist High School of La Concepción will continue this ministry mission of education.
